Blog Journal 1
Hi!
My name is Tessa and I am a senior at Florida State University. I am from south Florida, and have been interested in education and teaching from a young age. My strongest skills are based in reading and writing, and I am hoping that my major in editing, writing, and media and my minor in education will provide me with a stable foundation in obtaining a teaching job post graduation. My favorite kinds of books to read are mystery novels, but I do enjoy an occasional nonfiction biography/autobiography.
Throughout my primary education (K-12), I was constantly exposed to different types of technology in regard to education. Most of my teachers used some kind of technology win the classroom, whether that was a smart board or projector when teaching. As I neared the end of my primary school education, mainly my four years in high school, the use of a personal laptop grew significantly. At the end of my senior year, everything was moved online due to the COVID 19 pandemic. When this switch was made, each student was required to use Canvas in order to submit assignments, as well as have access to the course content. I also rely heavily on Microsoft applications in order to complete certain assignments such as essays or presentations.
My Personal Learning Network is not the most profound. As of now I have a few teachers from my educational past that I would still rely on to give me more insight on how to be the best teacher I can for the variety of students that I may encounter. I would like to obtain more resources, such as reading blogs created by teachers, or utilizing my social media apps in a more educational manner.
